ACP is thrilled to welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning The Minnesota Star Tribune photographer Richard Tsong-Taatarii as the opening Keynote of the 2026 ACP College Media Mega Workshop.

Through his documentary photography work, Richard Tsong-Taatarii brings attention to the joys and tribulations of Minnesotans as a staff photographer for The Minnesota Star Tribune. He also enjoys covering communities within our larger society that escape the attention of the mainstream media.
In 2026, the Star Tribune was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting on the Annunciation Church tragedy which acknowledged both the quality of both the visual and written coverage. In 2020, his work was included in the winning Breaking News Pulitzer entry for the coverage of the George Floyd protests. In the same year, he also took 2nd place in the NPPA Cliff Odom New America Award for his coverage of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Standing Rock Reservation and an Award of Excellence for his portfolio. In 2018, he was named NPPA Best of Photojournalism large market photographer of the year for his coverage of the Rohingya exodus, end of the Standing Rock protests, and Black Lives Movement. He was also awarded a World Press Photo award in general news for his picture of Philando Castile’s best friend, John Thompson, mourning his lives, by highlighting the long-term impact of the Black Lives movement.
Richard has a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley and an M.A. in Visual Communication from Ohio University.

Rick Green is the president and publisher of the Iowa Group for Adams MultiMedia.
He’s an Ohio native who’s been in journalism since age 15. Rick has been a senior editor, executive editor and president/publisher in seven newsrooms and loves building high-performing teams and inspiring those who desire to pursue a journalism career. He’s led teams that have won a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news and a Peabody Award for a joint investigative project with ABC News. His staffs have been a Pulitzer finalist on three other occasions.
Rick completed his journalism studies at Ohio University’s Scripps College of Communication.
